Heres the deal, ive been reading on here for quite some time and i still cant make up my mind on what type of boat i want. At this time i can't spend more than 15 K. I would like ya' ll to help me build one. I understand this is asking alot, however i really need some help. i would like something i can improve on for example add a tower, ballast, and possible perfect pass. I cant decide between a V drive or a DD i know the space on the v drive will be better and would allow for hidden ballast. Please any input would be appreciated greatly.
thanks,
Dalton

find you a Sport Nautique for around 10k give or take, get a tower for about 1500, spend another 500 on a couple of fat sacs to put beside each side of the engine, spend the left over on gas or pimp out the stereo, amps, and tower speakers, gonna be hard to find a vdrive with everything for 15k

It's a v-drive and you would be hard pressed to find another v-drive for less than 15k. Here is the post on where I bought mine http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=84791&highlight=sanger
Obviously I am biased. I picked up mine for $12,500 with 265 hours on it. They are very well built boats with a very nice wake. The downside is that there are not many here in Texas, I had to travel to California to get mine.

| I would save up another 5k-8k and buy an older Super Air Nautique 210 or an older (01-02) XStar.

My thoughts exactly, '01 Super Air Nautiques have an awesome wakes ranging from small to 'OMG You want me to hit that?!?'

I've ridden behind weighted up 210's and 205V's, the Sanger loses nothing in wake performance compared to those boats. If anything it is a combination of the two wakes, builds quick like the San but shaped like the 205V but with a little more lip. Tasty boat for sure.

You hit it right on the head. If you can find a V-drive, you get it, no questions asked. Don't get me wrong I own a DD and they're nice too, but not having to jump around ballast bags and engine compartments. You wouldn't think you'd get annoyed with it because at first it's awesome just to have a sweet wake to ride. But after a few years it gets really old and you'll wish you went with a v-drive.

| The Sanger you listed looks like a great option since it is a v-drive unlike the other two. It would not be as roomy as the newer v-drives, though, with its 7' 6" beam. Still a much better boat for wakeboarding than a sterndrive, though.

| vdrives in the 15k range would be hard to pull off.. but possible... depends if you want a boat next week or just whenever the perfect boat comes around. That sanger looks like a good deal... you could always get a nice DD like the malibu and keep saving then trade up again. Thats what I plan on doing in a couple years. I got a Tige 20i and I plan to go 25k for a vdrive in a couple years... hopefully by then I am comfortable riding switch and jumping w2w switch

BNut in all seriousness..... I have an 03 launch ssv and the NADA on it now is 22K...... Im sure you could find a slightly older model similar boat for your price range that would be a great boat...... Check supras, moombas and malibus..... Mastercrafts and Nautiques are most likely gonna be a bit higher unless you really take it back on the year model
