You're edging REALLY hard at first and right before you hit the wake, you back-off and flatten out. Start yoru dege really slow and work your way up as you get to the wake (your hardest edge should be when you hit the wake).
Remember, speed isn't the same thing as edge! Think of edge as your angle of the board in the water and the deeper your heelside edge is when you hit the wake, the more pop you'll get (more or less).

That will defintely help. Don't think of it so much as a 'jumping' motion as it is just extending your legs. Be sure to stand tall all the way through the wake (and stay in that position at least half-way across the wakes, both hands on the handle and legs straigt). This will get you used to riding and standing tall all the way up through the wake and not absorbing the water's energy through your knees.

so 1. i should practice standing taller and less crouched when i edge, and 2. i should extend my legs so that my knees arnt bending when i hit the top of the wake?
When you're edging, you want to be bent at the knees. (Not really at your waist/back, it will throw you off balance). Think of keeping your chest pointed up. Bend your knees just a little at first (this can increase when you get more comfortable) and then straighten them as you hit the wake. Be sure to keep your legs straight all the way through the wake and you'll be golden.
Your form wasn't that bad at all, you just edged WAY too hard then let off and didn't explode through the wake.

isuckatwakin, make sure you don't confuse "standing tall" with "standing as tall as you can vertically toward the sky." You don't want to "stand tall" straight up and down. Instead, try to "stand tall" in relation to the board itself. So, if you had the board layed over on edge and it is exactly perpendicular to the water as you're cutting toward the wake, in theory the back of your head should be close to the water as you "stand tall" in relation to the board.
This guy is "standing tall" in relation to the board itself:

I understand, keep your knees bent, them when you hit the wake stand tall against the board and explode off the wake. Thanks, and why is my title criminal instead of newbie now? Haha
pet575, Thanks for clarifying. I never really thought about telling people that because it just made sense for me. I love this sport, learning every day....

dammit.. i was going to ride today, my brother wants to use the boat to fish... and theres thunderstroms in 3 hours. anyway, you guys think i could make my wake any bigger? my boats a 15 foot whaler with a modified v hull. the engines a 60 and its already trimmed up and the weight is in the back.
If you're weighing down the boat, make sure to weight it evenly. I don't have any experience with a hull like that though.
You shouldn't need much more of a wake then that for now. IMO it makes you have to focus even more on your technique since the boat/wake isn't helping you out much.

My humble opinion on weighting any boat which has a motor that can be trimmed is to start at the bow and move backward with the weight. Inboards need weight in the back to push the stern into the water more to improve the wake. Unlike an inboard, you can sort of mash the stern of the boat down into the water by raising the trim. So, you should put your weight forward in the boat.

honestly even though your edge isn't perfect, I think you'd make it if you stand tall. I think you could improve your edge, yes, but it looks decent. Notice how when you go off the lip of the wake how your knees are still bent? When you're releasing off the top of the wake your legs should be straight.
Try not to think of it as jumping, try to slam your feet through the floor so to speak. Try to press down explosively and don't worry about a "jumping" motion. Focus on getting your feet to slam down explosively. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before.

in other words, stom the board down as hard as you can.

LMAO, almost like a jumping motion but without jumping.
I've actually tried explaining this to my buddies many time, you're not trying to jump off the wake that will just throw you off balance. Usually my buddies end up in raley position and face plant.
Just as these 2 said you wnt to push into the wake and let the wake throw you in the air. You're not trying to jump off the wake but instead let the wake do all the work for you.
