I know how to add fiberglass, but making it stick to your wakeboard is going to be tricky and possibly damage your wakeboard even more..
If you wanted to add another fiberglass layer to the bottom of your board, you would want to rough up the bottom of the board first to get it down to the original fiberglass, then you could starting laying new layers.
Basically you'd get a bunch of glass mat and some disposable paint brushes and lay some resin down, then lay the mat down, then lay some more resin. Repeat for as many layers as you desire.
If the board is already mashed to heck maybe you aren't worried about ruining it. But basically I would take some coarse sand paper, rough it up, add new layers. It's certainly going to be better for you if you lay all the layers you plan on laying at once. You'll get less bubbles that way. maybe do half the board (top or bottom) and lay all layers. Then move the other half.
Afterwards you're going to want to hit it with a sander to smooth out the rough areas so make sure you add extra assuming you're going to sand some off. In all honesty though.. the amount of mat and resin you will need, you might as well troll the classifieds for a 100 dollar used board. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |
