I've been "online" shopping for boats for a while now and like the looks of the Moomba Mobius XLV. I have not been inside one yet in person. What do people think of their bow seating configuration? Particularly the permanent set up instead of a bow filler cushion. It appears to offer more storage. Does it make it a pain for adults to go up to the front to sit? I'm sure kids would love it. Thanks in advance for any opinions you can offer.

This link shows the layout pretty well.

I have an XLV and wasn't sure about it..... till we used it for the first time. Now we LOVE the playpen bow. In Canada its kind of cool and we often keep the bow cover on and with the heaters in gets nice and toasty in there and the kids actually play up there under the cover for hours, its like a little tent for them. The fold up seat back right next to the driver is also great because it allows an extra rear facing seat and is nice for using the heaters as well.

When it's warm out the huge playpen bow is awesome for just relaxing on and laying out on.

Oh ya, there is a 1200 ballast bag under the playpen bow too so its a lot of weight all hidden and when drained is a huge amount of storage.

I was also a little unsure before we bought the boat but having owned one, I can say with complete honesty that I love this seating setup.

I have an '89 Sunsport with the playpen setup. We really like it. I don't really even notice that it isn't "walk through". It's nice to be able to sit up there whichever direction you want and have padding.

Does the driver's seat on the Moomba LSV and XLV swivel or is it fixed in the forward position? I just looked at some online and I couldn't tell. I like how the seats wrap all around to the back of the driver's seat but I just realized it might have to be locked in facing forward. I also like the Mastercraft Maristar layout and it appears to have a swivel captain's chair.

No, unfortunatley the don't swivel on the Moombas. People have added swivels to them though and it wasn't too hard from the looks of the pictures and not very expensive either.
