I'm thinking of replacing my I/O with a Tige RZ2. It's a sweet boat, but I'm not certain that an indrive is right for me. I'm certainly aware of the wake differences. The thing that I'm concerned about in all around family use is how much the V drive prop is a hinderance in pulling up to sandbars and beaches on the lower Colorado, Mead and Powell, as well as dropping it in to some of these drought striken ramps. I've never been in an inboard. Any feedback from those of you that use your inboard for all around family fun, on this subject?
inboards actually draw less water than most sterns.
however you cant raise the prop and when the docks are laying up on the rocks and stumps (like last summer) that can make things tough.
wading to the boat is WELL worth all the other gains. if its in your budget pick it up and i garantee youll never regret it. _________________
Do you ski at all? You might consider a direct drive boat. The rear half of DD boats are usually shallower than the V Drives. This gives you more room for your shallow waters while still getting into an inboard.
