My 2003 GMC 1500HD (4WD) is at 130K miles; just put on new tires. I want to replace/upgrade my shocks. The truck is bone stock and 98% of my driving is on decent pavement; very light off-road use other than that.
1. Looks simple to replace shocks (8 bolts). Any surprises you guys know of?
2. Recommendations on good products and places to shop? Jegs?

The shocks should be very simple to replace. Sometimes they can get stuck, but they should come free with a tuning fork and a hammer. I like Bilstein shocks, but they can be kind of pricey. I'm guessing you will be happy with whatever they sell at your local parts store. I have a new set of Bilstein 5100s in my garage for an '08 GMC 2500 4x4. I sold the truck before putting them on, so If those happen to fit your truck, I will make you a good deal on them. PM me if interested.

those are nice and probably worth more than I need to spend, and unfortuntately it doesn't look like that model will work on my truck.
thanks anyway. _________________
