I have no experience with those boats. If you're looking in the 25k price range, I'd advise you to find a good used 205v/xstar/x2/x1

For instance:

Ok. Sounds good. That xstar is a good deal nonetheless. Especially, if you could get it for like 22k.

That's a nice looking boat, but I'd much rather have the xstar. That hull produces one of the best wakes ever. You're not going to find much argument there. The x10 wake is meh.

Read the post by the guy that owned both.
http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?p=611679

I personally owned an '02 XStar for 3 years. I LOVED that boat. I have a SANTE 230 now, and as much as I love the wake behind my boat, I also still love riding behind my friend's sacked out '99 205v.

I'd personally pay more for the xstar.

It means, to me, ok or indifferent. The wake behind an x10 is better than some boats, but not as good as others IMO - especially when you start adding weight. I'd look at the older super sport nautiques and MC prostar 205V's if you want something cheaper that will last, hold value, and produce a truely great wake.

That launch (3rd link) is a decent boat. Supra Launches put out a nice wake that is more of a smooth ramp. I'm not sure about the Comp LTS. If it is truly built on the comp hull, I would avoid it as that is more of a ski boat, crossover at best.

Chatt is right, the 205V is a great hull. The wake on those is one of the best out there from what people say. It throws a really steep wake. I would seriously consider that if you can stretch yourself up to say $22k. It would be nice to have a v-drive.

As Stang has indicated, Moomba is a good way to go to keep the price down and get a decent boat. They are maid by Skier's Choice, who makes Supra. It's kind of a budget level Supra.

ok what year on the 205v? we are looking at somewere around the 1997-2004 range.. i dont know much about moomba so i have no clue at what years or models to look at..

Ok dammit pm me your number and I'll call you tomorrow and try to give you a rundown on what you should look for. You can tell me what you want to spend and I'll call my friends who run local dealership to see what's available here. How far are you from Chattanooga.

make sure you know if your looking at a V drive or direct drive. most of those you posted in the last link are direct drive. which theres nothing wrong with at all. especially for a beginner/intermediate boat.
