Anybody ever ride behind an old late '70s mastercraft?
I know they were made for skiing back then, but would the wake be decent at slower speeds? Maybe for wakeskating?
Thanks.

You wouldnt be able to weight it down much due simply to the fact that there isnt much boat to weigh down.... but a fatsac or two would put a pretty decent wake behind one of these. They do really good for wakeskating though. All in all, you definitely wont have anything close to an X star wake but if youre just lookin to skate or have a little fun on a wakeboard then one of these boats will fill that purpose nicely.

that is true, but on the flip side they dont need much weight. because they have so little wet area compared to a modern boat.
my 82' SN2001 only needed 500 pounds to make a really nice wake. and 900 lbs got things pretty crazy. 500-900 pounds on a modern 21+' boat wouldnt even make a difference.

example take two bowls. one small and one large. set them in water and put three golf balls in each. youve added the same weight to both. but because of the smaller displacement and wet area the smaller bowl will sink much lower in the water.

in the 2 1/2 years i had the boat i only took water over the nose like 3 times. Laughing
