Looking to pick up my first wakeboard, and was told to check out a few sites. Did some digging yesterday, and I've found several boards that I wanted to get opinions on. I'm about 5'8'' 185 lbs, size 10.5-11 shoe (wide feet), if that helps. Links below:

Ronix 09 Mana Blem: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/ronix-mana-wakeboard-blem-2009.aspx

CWB 09 Faction Blem: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/cwb-faction-wakeboard-blem-2009.aspx

LF 09 Axis Blem: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/liquid-force-axis-wakeboard-blem-2009.aspx

Ronix 2010 District: http://www.evogear.com/wakeboards/ronix-district-wakeboard-2010.aspx

LF 09 Groove: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/liquid-force-groove-wakeboard-2009.aspx

LF 09 Lyman: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/liquid-force-lyman-wakeboard-2009.aspx

LF 09 Witness: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/liquid-force-witness-wakeboard-2009.aspx

LF 09 Watson: http://www.evogear.com/outlet/wakeboards/liquid-force-watson-wakeboard-2009.aspx

Would these boards be good to start out with? If not, got any suggestions? Also, I've done some looking around, but I'm still in the dark about which bindings to even begin looking at. Open toe? Closed toe? Brand? Damn there are a lot of choices!

Also, I've got a 2003 Caravelle 207. Will this boat be sufficient for wakeboarding? Thanks in advance for the help!

Your boat will be fine for a few years, but after you get into it you'll probably want to get something with a bigger wake. Wink I've been looking at inboards for awhile now to get out of my I/O. I would suggest putting a tower on it though, makes getting up, and catching air easier. Not an absolute necessity though. Another thing to consider is what pitch prop you have?

The only board on that list I have experience with is the Faction, didn't care for it. The one I rode was a bit small for me though, I'm 225lbs. and rode the 138 so maybe that's why it seemed sluggish. It wasn't anywhere near as responsive as my HL Premier 141. The Faction was my brothers ride and about half way through the season he went to a HL Era, and liked that much better.

I've read good things about the other boards on your list, maybe some of the other guys here can provide you with which one would be best for a beginner.

You might want to check out some package boards. You can get a 2010 package with bindings like the PS3 for a great price including bindings. Same for a 2010 Premier with Remix package.

Be very careful with Blem boards. You never really know what you might get. Unless there is a picture of the actual board I would not try to save a few bucks not knowing what the blem might be. Could be a small problem could be a big problem.

We have most of the 2010 packages at boardstop. Some of the Ronix stuff has already sold out. The district has been a popular package.

I ride the Ronix Mana with Cell boots and it's a pretty damn good setup.

Pro's- Lands really smooth off jumps, Good Pop, Carves really fast

Cons- Pretty heavy so it sucks for spinning
