| I'm looking at getting a new boat. I'm wanting to move into a inboard vdrive boat. I currently have a 1991 19' Caravelle with a I/O 4.3L V6 in it. I'm looking at moving to a inboard vdrive with maybe a V8 in it around 21 feet. Was wondering what you guys typically burn in fuel wakeboarding with a boat like this. Want to make sure I'm still gonna be able to afford to take the thing to the lake after the payment. |

depends a lot on how much weight/ballast you run.
Typical weighted down 21' inboard is gonna burn around 5 gallons an hour. The more weight you add the more fuel you are gonna burn. |

| I don't even think about it, the less i know the better. I can get a solid two days of boarding, surfing and tubing the kids around out of a 40 gal tank on our '07 LSV. |

really depends on how long you are gone, how often you are pulling people up, etc.
usually when there are 3-4 of us, and we all get good runs in, we use 40 bucks a day in fuel, at least. _________________ Need riders in the Fort Collins, CO Area! |

| Guess that makes sense. Once you get the person up you use less. Hadn't thought of that. I just didn't want to pull the boat out of the water and have to put 90 bucks a day in fuel in it after being on the water for 6 hours or so. |

well i sometimes go through a lot of gas because i take a LOT of beginners, and we are constantly in the throttle, idling around to them, in the throttle again, watch them fall, repeat. _________________ Need riders in the Fort Collins, CO Area! |

For a day with 5 or 6 people, ballast for either surfing or boarding, and a little bit of cruising I've spent between $70 - $100. Depending on falls, whether I fill up the 3300lbs of ballast, whether there's lots of surfing, and whether everyone is more in a chilling mood than riding mood.
[edit]also, for benchmarking purposes, it's a 350 indmar with something like 550 hours on it. _________________ '05 Supra Launch 24SSV |

Like everyone else has said.... depends on whatis going on that day.
350 Indimar here, 6750lbs fully loaded(boat plus ballast) plus people and fuel... $50-$60bucks easy in 6 hours boarding (low gear). Of course not running the entire time but that what it seems to take to fill it back up after a 7am - 1pm run with 4 or so folks.
$20-$40 for a day of surfing (high gear unless I have a lot of people)
around $30 a day for just running around the lake and chilling...(high gear)
Unloaded I get about the same gas usage as my V6 searay... go figure huh. 2-speed for life! _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN
