I am taking a trip to Lake Amistad this summer. Anything near the water for rent?

Just stay away from J.C. the game warden! Really rent a house boat you cannot stay on the water any way else.

We rented a houseboat for a trip there as well and had a great time. One of our best trips ever. This was about 5 yrs ago, but we only saw one other boat....had the lake to ourselves. Get all the supplies you need in Del Rio before you head to the lake....nothing out there past Del Rio. I think it was a good 30 minute or so drive from Del Rio to the houseboat place.

Ruthies is the shizz, that's where we always stay. It's cheap and about as close to the boat ramp as you can get out there. Don't expect it to be nice though. We haven't done the house boat thing, we always have too many people and kids.
