I have the 07, 08, 09 FLY and no plans to upgrade...my favorite shape by far. Theres a reason they say it was the best selling board in the industry for several years. Lots of pop, lands soft, and its rides smooth. I'm sure others will have their opinions, but mine is that its a great shape. If I was still in Belton, I'd let you ride any of mine. I believe John H, Nate R, Wade S, David T, & the other Corey all have/had Watsons, and I think Erik H had a watson at one time. Might ask around the lake and try one to see if you like it.

i would kill to be able to afford a fly watson.
i may have to stop by this summer and test one of your old ones.

i know your bias eric, but how does the watson and s4 compare?
im wanting to get away from the 142 and step back down to a 138. these are two that caught my eye spec wise.

s4 is a little faster, with a cleaner release off the wake and grippier. Not quite the explosive pop of the watson Both are awesome boards.

+1 on LakeIolaLuke & +1 Craig-R

I don't like a grippy board and I do like a lot of straight up pop. Best traditional board out there imo.

The FLY is definitely expensive. Had to sell a couple boards to keep the wife happy. And it was my Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary/your not getting anything else the rest of the year kind of thing. Smile It took a little getting used to because it rides higher out of the water than the regular watson. If you ride FLY bindings on it, you drop 5lbs total. When I thought about it, it was easy to see why it rides higher. I actually didn't like The FLY board until my 3rd or 4th set on it because of it riding higher. Another difference in the FLY is it has more flex than the regular Watson. I can put my feet on the ends of the board and press it down pretty much flat to the floor.

Test out a Watson, you'll be glad you did.

And come on by anytime. Boat & winch are on go, and you can ride whatever board you want.

the watson classic is the same old shape with the molded fins and the removable center fin, the new shape is similar to the old but the fins are all removable instead of bieng molded so if yo wanna hit rails cable etc you wont bang your oard up beyond repair, you can just remove the fins
