In case any of you are wondering if there is any wake influence in kiteboarding, check out KiteScoop.com. I'm not here to pimp, just trying to share the fact that there is more to kiting than old men dangling from parachutes. On the Scoop forum I'd have to post some naked chicks since this was my first post, but I'm not sure what the etiquette is here.

Anyway the wakeboarding/wakeskating movement is growing in kiteboarding. We'd be stoked to have more legitimate riders in the scene. Come join us if you're interested.

stone2, Already lurking there. I just learned to kite about a month ago and have only been out about three times total (including first lesson). I have a lot of cable experience so I picked it up really quickly and spent a good portion of the lesson actually riding.

As soon as I'm good enough, I'm hitting the darkside hard. How long would it take a complete beginner like me to start using boots? I can't stand how unresponsive footstraps are.

GnarShredd, as soon as you can stay upwind you can jump on boots, and you won't ever look back Wink glad to hear you're on the right path, keep at it.

That is why the scoop is dope, the mods don't have any strings attached.

I wondered about this. I've been wakeboarding for about 3 years now and just got into kiting and I hate not having my closed bindings on the board.

Yes, besides this awesome wakeboarding forum... the "Scoop" is a great place to stay updated with what "wakestyle" kiteboarders are doing and pushing...
