What kind of Wakeboard Tower speakers do you guys use?? I'm asking because I wanted to save a few hundred dollars and I bought some cans and some Rockford Fos M262's to go in them. Well it turns out that the speaker is actually just a little too small to fit the can, and everywhere i've looked it has been the same case for just about every Marine speaker out there.

now, there were a few speakers that would work like Earthquake and MTX, but I have never heard of these brands and they sound sketchy to me, really cheap too.

What do you guys have? Would you happen to know of any "adapters" that would make my speakers fit? Just any advice would be very much appreciated..

Thanks guys.

Okay so you bought these? Did you buy them already in the cans? Cause see the cutout on those is only 5 and they also would be too small for the can which needs like a 5 3/4 cutout.

Or if you bought the cans seperate which did you buy?

I've seen some MTX's before on the car stereo side that weren't too terrible. Of course they aren't the top of the line, but I wouldn't say they are complete crap.

Whunt11, I'm a dealer for those, and have sold several sets. I'd have to measure the cutout, but the speaker is a true 6.5", that means the cone, not from edge to edge, is 6.5". My boat came with Kenwood 6.5's from the factory, and to install the 650's, I had to cut the can's out a little bit. That's a stock Roswell can.

I've also installed these as in-boat speakers as well.

We have Fusion T-Series Combo speakers that are really nice and sound quality is top notch. Not sure if they make them anymore though.

Half his family and friends live on the same block and they all have boats, Tige's, Malibu's, etc. It's the coolest street to drive down. And they all hit the lake at the same time. Good times.

What is the cut out size and what is the OD of the can?

I think you are looking at it backwards. If you can has a 5 3/4 cut out and the Wet Sounds XS-650 or SS-65 have a 5 inch cut out. They would fit just fine.

The OD of the grille on them is 7 inches. So there is plenty of room.

So as long as there is a lip on the can and the OD is similar to the OD of the speaker. You will be fine.

I do not think you are going to find Fusion products any longer. From what I have heard they are out of business..

Best tower speakers bar none are Wetsounds. They are pricey, but they are worth every penny.

I picked up the bulletlines 6.5" HLCDs. They are beefy! One of them probably weighs about as much as 3 of my MM651s...maybe all 4 of them. Definitely look like they would have no problem getting 80 ft out and still have plenty of room left.

Didn't I see something about Bulletlines selling fake speakers or something lately?

Of course they're not fake, I meant to say knock-offs of another brand.

I don't really know much as far as insider info on what actually went on. I do know that Ken with Krypt Audio is coming out with a HLCD 6X9" speaker soon. He didn't tell me the specs on it but it sounds pretty cool.

Should have LESS hang height than a 6.5" speaker but will sound more like an full 8". He mentioned something about broader range of frequency but I am not than much of a audio gurue to really understand it. Besides there are tons of people out there is 6X9" boxes so it should be easy to drop them right in.

As far as I know, no one else has a 6X9" HLCD so at least no one can remotely accuse him of copying them . Very Happy
