i just got a board from a friend of mine, it has a minor crack in the front of the board. about an inch long and it hasn't penetrated all the way through, its only cracked on the top of the board. there are chips in the back though, on the bottom. will this affect anything?

You can use an Bob Smith Insta-cure with a setting spray.
