Shaun Murray here, and givin' you the haps for the pay it forward 09 program.
I did this last year and things went great. Here's what and why I'm doing this.
I came across an extra board in my garage, and since I am so pumped on how my new board rides, I wanted to share the ride with some other people. I posted that if someone wanted to try it out, I would mail it to them, they ride the board, sign the board, and write a quick blurb in a book that travels with the board, and then that person ships it to the next person. The only bummer is that you have to pay for the shipping, which isn't too bad of a deal.
So many people responded that I wasn't ready for that kind of response. Hyperlite found out about it, so they agreed to send one of each size. 135, 140, 145.
The boards traveled from state to state, one got pinched out of someones truck along with their personal ride, big bummer but was replaced. Two of the boards are still out there and one is in my buddies office, Kevin Durham, Team Manager at Nautiques.
Things went so well that Hyperlite agreed to kick things up a notch and send 9 boards out!
3 regions, west coast, mid west and east coast. I need 1 person for each region to track the boards travels. You will need to know who has the board and where is will be going. We will have a post for each region where people can let us know how things went, what they thought, etc...
For each "regional manager" (my ode to "The Office"), they will get to choose 1 board from their region to keep.
I know that this will make a lot of people want to take this position, but please only if you think you can follow it all year.
I will go over the guidelines like each person should have the board for only 3 days and then move it on, as we move forward with this.
I am up for suggestions on how to run this thing since I am figuring it out as we go along.
If someone wants to step up and apply for a regional manager position, let me know why you think you can pull off the job.
Go ahead and post on here for now and keep your eyes open for details.
I will try to have a decision within a couple weeks.
Ed, drop me a line so we can discuss some possibilities.
Im at my camp right now, so I gotta bolt onto the water. later Shaun |

Hey Shaun. I live in Missouri. I can do the Midwest region.
I can do it because I am a Highschool student with a lot of time on my hands. During the summer I am pretty much either at the lake or cable or at my house. I can put together a map of where the boards need to go when they need to be gone by. I know your boards are super killer so I am stoked that everyone gets a chance to ride them.
I rode at your camp a couple years ago, you and Travis were good coaches and I have been telling people to since.
Thanks a ton

I'd be willing to test it out in Ohio next summer. It would work out better in July because I can test it in Ohio and take it to Norris Lake in TN and hand it off to some people I know there...
Let me know if there's anything I could do to help, Shaun! |

I would 100% be willing to take on the Ohio area. (Dayton area) I am a teacher and have all summer off. I signed up to get the 140 last time, but it never made it to Ohio. Only problem is Ohio's season is pretty much from April-October. Shaun is a class act. _________________ www.slobgear.com

| I live and work in the Redmond Washington area and could handle the west coast. My work keeps me on the computer all day long and I can quickly respond to emails and such. Being a computer programmer I can easily come up with something to track the boards. |

This sounds sick and i'd love to sign up to do it, but i dont think i'll be able to since we sold our boat and might not be able to make sure I could get out w/ my cuzins as quickly as I would need to.
That said, I would still love to help with this, I could track the board in the Midwest region, I'm from NE. I, also, am in High School. And I'm either lifting and running routes for football (mon-fri in the morning), lake or just chillin at my house. I could also take a map of the Midwest, mark who has the board, where it is going, and when. I would also keep duplicates of it on my flash drives.
Just ask if you would like more info.

Mr Murray,
Being a fellow Floridan, I can look after the East and get things started off right. I can come down to Orlando and pick it up, ride a quick ses' on it, and send it on it's way. I'm an active duty Navy member. I'm part of an officer commissioning program, so I go to school here in Jacksonville year round and have plenty of time on my hands because I don't have to work a job while I go to school. The Navy pays for it and pays me a salary.
I'd love the opportunity to try out the new model and if I get chosen to track it/keep it when done, that would be awesome. I know there will be alot of people wanting the job, so I don't envy you having to make that decision

Hey shaun, I know its not in the plans for Canada right now, but if a board does end up crossing the boarder, Qnev, k_dip and me all ride on Shuswap Lake, and it would be awsome if you could send a board our way, you could kill 3 birds with 1 board.
If Canada is in the picture, I would really like to help out and be a regional manager for BC and I am willing to cross over the border and pick the board up myself if need be. |

| I'd like to give it a go out here in the West Coast. I live in the San Fran area and I've worked in shipping and receiving in the past. Or if your "Regional Managers" need to break it down even further and need help I can be one of your "District Managers" to help the Regional out when the boards come through my area. |

cool idea. you need a 4th region - TEXAS! too many wakeboarders here in this big ol' state to leave us out. not to mention the okies, arkies and cajuns...
if that happens, i'm your man! |

I am interested in getting the 145, and would also be interested in heading up the Midwest portion of it. I can be contacted through PM here. I work in shipping, and managing mailing databases on a daily basis so keeping track of it would be right up my alley.

I nominate 2tuff for the midwest! Midwestwakeboarder.com will help him make sure everyone in the midwest gets a shot at riding one of your fine boards, and will include something extra from Midwestwakeboarder.com to each person that succesfully forwards the board onto the next person on the list! _________________ www.midwestwakeboarder.com

I would love to help out with this "pay it forward" board pass. I'm a New York native and would love to be envolved in some way, shape or form. If your looking for someone to take care of a board in the Northeast I'd love to do it. If not, i'd love to get to ride the board and then send it off to the next person! Thanks Shaun! _________________ Go big or go home. |

If you want to send one to Texas let me know. 360wakeboard.com has been putting on wake events since 1997 and we could make an event out of the Pay it Forward stop in Texas. I could let one or two lucky people here in Austin win the chance to try it out and then the club would pay to ship it to the next lucky recipient. _________________ Stone

I know we live in the great north with all the snow and ice, but thought it would be great to try the board and be part of the Pay It Forward. Sounds like a great idea. When I sent a message to get put on the list they wont send it to Canada. Boo !
I guess Canadian Wakeboarders are getting to strong and you Yanks must feel threatened.

I would love to take on the West coast operation. I have managed many projects for work and would be up for taking on this challenge on the side. I work... but I don't stop thinking about wakeboarding. I am reliable, a decent boarder, and passionate about time on the water. I will do my best to keep this project rolling and successful in 09.
I live in Issaquah WA... 15 minutes from the Hyperlite HQ in Redmond
