I have a kiosk in the mall selling Gizmobies. Since I am already paying mall rent, I figured I should take advantage. Anyone have any good ideas for something that would be a good seller out of a kiosk?

I missed this.. Down in Houston you can get all the latest 5 dollar toy packages. Have you looked at selling a small remote control toy line? What about sports shirts and hats? Cell phone accessories?

flixmaster, good ideas. I am planning on adding some accessories to the existing kiosk. Rather than open other kiosks at other malls around the state(s), i think I may look into opening other kiosks in the same mall for logistical reasons.

I think I will stay away from tshirts and hats. There was a seasonal RC heli kiosk that did real well, so the toys may be good. Any idea what the name of the $5 toy stand is?

No I see them in the Austin mall all the time.. It was just a toy corner or some type of name. They also sold the generic game machines.

Harwin street in Houston has all that stuff.. Not sure if you have a similar area in your town but being close to the port of houston they have all that imported cheap stuff.. Sterling silver, knock off handbags, perfumes etc... Everything I end up seeing at the no-name brand stores in Killeen.

churchy, Definitely try and pick up the little R/C toys, those pretty much kill it.

I don't know how well they do but there always seems to be plenty of cell phone accessory stands in malls, so there's gotta be something there for an extended assortment of that stuff.

It might even be worth while to take a look at the 'as seen on tv' type items (I work in TV retail). They're usually set to a retail price-point perfect for impulse buys (generally $19.95 is a win) and I haven't really seen them in mall kiosks. Drug store chains have been buying really heavily in that stuff lately. Customers right now are all about money/time saving gadgets.

I was actually thinking about the As Seen On TV.

If you can get an name of the RC Toy supplier, I would appreciate it.

There are a bunch of random companies down there. I would suggest google on Harwin street in Houston.. See if any of the companies have a site. I am not sure when I will be back down in that area.

If you find a store let me know...next time I am in Houston I can take a look at it.. They seem to turn over really fast on product. When the small mini cars where hot a bunch of dealers had them....then the mini copters....not sure what is hot now. I have started to see the imported 4 wheelers and mini bikes.

Wow, I may stay away from the RC stuff... there is a kiosk that sold heli's over the holidays, and there are a lot of pissed off people. I guess people expected them not to break or be fixed for free. I need something that is no muss no fuss.

flixmaster, that's a good call. I am told they are the #1 kiosk in the country. However, there is already one set up in the mall.
