Hey all, I've been reading the forum for a few weeks and finally got registered. I'm about as new as one can get, have an 06 Tahoe Q6 (just installed a Big Air Pylons tower this past Sunday). I've always wanted to get into wakeboarding but just got the boat 2nd hand in April and have been teaching my two boys (5 & 11) how to kneeboard, etc. A friend gave me one of his old CWB boards the other day but I need to get bindings and I'm lost. He's a good bit smaller than me at 5'8" 158lbs to my 6'2" 240 (I'll post a pic of the board later). I'm land locked in Central Mississippi with no real store to go to and try on bindings/boards for fit, we only have a Dick's Sporting Goods & Bass Pro Shops to choose from at an hour drive from where I live and though I'm willing to drop the $$ for some quality gear, I dont wanna be ordering things off the internet w/o trying them on if possible. Any tips/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Anyhow, I love the site and there seems to be some great, talented, friendly people here!

How far are you from Hattiesburg? I've got 3 or 4 different sizes of Liquid force bindings you could try on....2 different Vantage, 1 Shane, 1 Watson. sizes 9-13. PM me if you want to try them on. Most of the higher end bindings you find these days cover only 2 shoe sizes....example 9-10. They are usually right on the money. But if they are too small your feet hurt...if they are too big you run a higher injury risk. In my opinion the Liquid force Bindings are the most comfortable. I buy mine from Boardstop.com and they are 30% off right now.

Where do you ride in Central MS?

I live in Yazoo County and ski on Wolfe Lake. There is no ski shop by the Dick's we just got in Flowood. From Hattiesburg, I'm prob 2 hours so I might take ya up on that! Here are the pics of the board if anyone can help me ID the model to see if specific bindings are needed for my size 12-13 foot Rolling Eyes

That is an older Absolute Platinum board. Not sure what year it is. A 12-13 is a XL-XXL for CWB. You might want to check the size of that board. The Absolute comes in a 135 and a 141 size. You are going to want the larger size board. The Torq is a good entry level binding or the Vapor from CWB.

Yeah, looks like the 05 Absolute Platinum 141. Pretty much any bindings will fit that board. Bindings have come a long way since 05. Generally speaking, the newer the more comfortable, lighter, and more supportive. Give us a budget and I'm sure all the guys on here will chime in on suggestions. Now is a good time to buy 09 bindings. The shops are closing them out since the 2010s are coming out around November.

If you are ever close to Hattiesburg, send me a PM. There are a few guys in Jackson that are on this forum as well. They ride on the reservoir.

Thanks so much fellas. As far as a budget, when it comes to my feet, I'm willing to shell out Wink but will absolutely check out the closeout prices on the older models, there's just so many to choose from I cant stand not having a chance to try something on to get a "feel" of it before ordering Sad

yay mississippi people lol, I'm in brandon, I wouldn't waste time coming to the dicks/bass pro/acadamy sports none of them really have much in the way of a huge selection. Dicks has the most and IMO you could prolly get more for less on the internet.

I don't blame you. If you're feet aren't comfortable, you're rides will be shorter. Shoot me a PM if you decide to come over to Hattiesburg and try a few pairs.
