Ive never seen anyone cut by the prop. I think it is more likely to get cut on the swim step braces(seen that happen quite a bit) _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |

| I've seen tons of pictures of people who got cut/killed by props. Not pretty. The things lots of people don't thimk about though is that the prop isn't spinning if you're not moving. |

The only person I know that ever got cut by a prop did it when he kicked it while swimming(the prop wasnt turning).
anti-shoobies, he's saying that a lot of people are nervous about getting cut by the prop when the boat is in neutral, which is stupid because it isnt even spinning. |

| Thanks Bluefish, exactly. People should be aware of where the prop is. Show them before you put the boat in the water and let them touch it if possible. |

Also, warn/show them the top of the outdrive. We've had people hit that while jumping off the back. One of them hit it right after we warned them about it.

1 year study -> 1200 injuries due to prop. Can cut through muscle in your thigh with engine off since momentum of boat may keep it spinning for a few seconds. My buddy backed over me when I was hanging on the swim platform and I had a very close call - felt the draw of the prop tugging at my legs and had to think quick to swim away without kicking into it. Be careful - direct drive is safer.

Are you guys talkin bout inboards? If you are the prop is still moving when the boat isn't. It just isnt moving very fast. |
