I just bought a used board from my buddy at work. Burton Floater 159. Im 6'3 175, will that size board be ok for me or will i need to get a diff board. He sold it to me for 50 bucks and its in great condition.

How experienced are you? Where/what do you normally ride? What is your shoe size?

wear a size 13. Never rode before but i wakeboard and i think after a couple of trys i will be able to ride some. I live in TN so i will be driving to NC to ride or maybe even WV.

Yeah I figured since your a tall dude you probably have big feet - you might need a wide board, and judging by that pic, it's not a wide board.

I wouldn't bother going and picking up a new board - just rent/demo for a bit until you figure out exactly what you want. A 159 might be ok for you to start, but you'll eventually want a bigger board.

Ya it felt like it might not be wide enough. But ya ima just have to demo some. I figure i would need somting a little bit bigger, but I got that board for 50 bucks. Couldnt pass it up

Floaters are a wider set up from burton. It will depend on your binding angle/boot toe and heel to tell if you'll get any toe/heel drag. A quick fix is riser plates if that is the cast. That set up should be alright for riding in TN if your 175, but you may want to demo some bigger sticks.

jryoung, Im gun be going to NC and WV to ride. maybe a couple times TN. But i def think there might be a lil drag. Any suggestions on a good beginner board that wont break the bank?
