1998 Centurion Elite-V - Same hull as current Centurions?

Looking at Centurions in the 1996-1998 years, V-drive, for a new used boat. They seem to be good looking boats, but not that many around. I'm trying to determine if the wake characteristics are good, but all the "Post your wake" pictures are 2000 and newer Centurion Avalanches. Does anyone have experience with mid-late 90's Centurions? Is it a respectable boarding wake?

In 2002 or 2003, Centurion changed the hulls for their storm 'wake' series boats. I have the little cousin of the Elite, the '00 Eclipse-V which was the same as the Cyclone until '02 and I can't remember what the Eclipse-v was comarketed under, but I think it was the Lightning up through 2002. I would check vinyl and the accessories and hatches which are not that great.

How is your wake? That's my biggest concern. If the vinyl's good, that's all I'd need - I can replace hardware easy enough. As long as the wake isn't weak, I'd be happy.

The wake is very respectable size wise, but a loaded down x-star (MC205) it is not. It responds pretty nicely to weight up to 2000lbs. The wake is more vertical than other boats but not as steep as a SAN. Mine is on the narrow side but the Elite may be wider being a bigger boar. One plus is that it makes and awesome surf wave - best I have been behind and the easiest to set up. One thing that takes a little getting used to is that it is sensitive to weight placement and sometimes the wake is hard to get perfectly symetrical on both sides but it really doesn't affect riding.

Overall I have been happy with it.
