Start all the way up and then push it down a bit as necessary to clean up the lip...

I currently run between 1/4 - 1/2 down.

well 2nd day with the boat getting the surf wake dialed, it must be twice as big as the old natique. mobius seems to like 10.0 or 10.3 mph and the wake plate about 1/4 of the way up. had the left rear 750 filled, and a 440 in the left seat.

Yeah that's def surfable. You will find that 10 might be a bit slow if you are progressing. Its not always the size of the wave, but its the power too.

i got this suggestion from the moomba board, im gonna try it.
"i have to play with the wake plate every time depending on weight of people on the boat, wind, water depth, etc to get the wave just right. usually between 1/2 to 3/4 up is best for me. and a little faster to make the wave longer, about 11.5 mph, and move that bag on the left seat closer to the back corner of the boat. see if that helps make it a little bigger."

Corey,

That was good advice you received.

Key things:

Add weight toward back of boat, you get a taller wake.

Add weight along the side of the boat, you get a longer wake.

Go slower, the wake is short and tall

Go faster, the wake is long and not quite as tall

Your new boat (congrats by the way), is identical to my SSV. I personally liked 10.7 mph, left and center bag full, bag laying on top of back corner (bag hangs over side of boat slightly), and plate all the way up. As you are learning you will want it tall so you stay in the pocket...as you progress, you will want it longer so you have a larger play area for tricks.

Good luck!

thanks that really brakes it down. very helpful.

its insane that you said that. after the previous advice i tried the more rear weight and higher speed as suggested. but found the perfect mix to be at exactly 10.7.
i moved the 440 sack all the way back until it hit the rear deck. but your saying actually have it slightly hang over the side? i seem to remember seeing you do that. i would guess, that would get the weight further back, and also more leverage out to the side for more lean?

im still a bit confused about filling the ski locker. yes or no? Embarassed

Yes, the extra sac will hang over the side. I actually make sure that my wakeboards are in the rack on the surf side as well. Some call me OCD but thats almost 30 lbs out over that side. We've even had people hang on to the racks and lean out over the surf side. Having people sit on top of the sun pad on the surf side helps a lot.

Definitely fill up the ski locker all the way.

well been playing with speed allitle still, but always come back to 10.7. seems to really love it. even with bigger riders and different boat weight. even tryied 250 in the bow. wrong location for weight, but didnt seem to matter much. still a nice wake.

Indeed it is! No, just kidding. We have someone on the sun pad if we don't have very many people, and we definitely have been known to hang over the side in extreme circumstances. Goofy or not, it makes a difference when you don't have very many people in the boat. I live on a private lake, so no lake patrol! Laughing

hahah. I can just imagine how many tickets the wonderful game life officers would write if they saw this. ROTFLMA

1) obviously above gross
2) people above the gunwhale (2 on the back platform and one hanging off the side)
3) They'd probably write a ticket for the rider being too close to the boat to top it off

They would sh*t on spot Smile
