Collective Development. They went out of business a few years back. All I know is that they are heavy and supposedly keep your foot locked in place. I always kinda wanted some, so I think you made a good purchase. People liked em when they had em, so I'm sure they'll be better that your current bindings. HELL of a good price, those bindings were always so expensive.

Never heard of em, but don't look to bad. At that price I'd order a pair as a back up if they had my size. I wonder if the air release thing is like the old Rebok pumps.

| Collective Development made killer bindings for their time. Not sure how they stack up against today's bindings, since I haven't worn any in forever.

I still have and occasionally ride my 2002 PS01's.
CD was WAY ahead of it's time. Sick bindings, AWESOME fit and hold. Best durability I have seen of any binding new or old. Mine look basically brand new.
The only complaint I could ever make about them is they take a while to lace up. They lace up very much like traditional snowboard boots. This in turn allows you to adjust just how locked in to the boot you will be. My recommendation was to tie them snug, but not overly tight.
I don't think you will be disappointed. They fit very much like today's bindings.
Again, they were way ahead of their time.

I used to work for them they were like chavez said a binding ahead of its time. You will not be disapointed. The only bad thing was it takes forever to get in and out of.
But for 21 bucks excellent find.

Jeff they were the same as the pumps but they leaked and would take water in instead.

I always wanted the VS01's back in the day. Funny how one of the sickest binding companies on the planet is forgotten so fast. Dare I mention Solbound or Nice?

logan, funny you should say that. Initially when I was describing CD, I was going to compare them to Nice because I always viewed them as similar in time period and quality.

savage3221, I'd say they were. The Nice RG's were some of the sickest binding ever made, IMO. I think I still have an unused "left" RG1 somewhere in my garage.

| CD's have always been my favorite! (I got 3 pairs still) aside from it taking a little longer to lace them up, the issue I kept having was the screws kept coming loose... check them after each ride.

+1! Loved my RG1s...wore them for 3 seasons. Even refused to let friends cut them to get my broken foot out of.

| I still ride my RG-1s. I haven't found a better binding. I bought some 09 Watsons thinking they were great but once I rode them I went right back to my RG-1s.
