I want to buy a new boat but I couldn't decide on it. Should I buy a Nautique or a Mastercraft. I will use it on salt water for wakeboarding and it must be at least 8 person or more. Can you please help me on it. (please right the model too) Thank you very much

from what i've read, the nautique is simply the best.
also, from what ive read, 02lightning on here has is boat loaded with people all the time, and they are comfortable on his nautique.

Nautique has a 5 year warranty and uses PCM engines. Go with a 210 or a 230.

Both make great boats. You should decide not only on the boat but on your dealer as well. No matter what you buy, you will have problems. A good dealer will get you back on the water with minimal hassle and with minimal down time.
I love my SANTE 230 though. If room is a concern, and you have the capability to tow and store a 6k lb 23.5 foot boat, there's not a boat on the market that will make as good of a wake and be as comfortable as a 230.
My local dealer has a left over 2008 230 that they're blowing out on the cheap. If you're interested, pm me.

Does Nautique still offer the 5 year warranty if you use your boat in Salt water?
If your in salt water, does it get really rough? I would second the Nautique or MC as well. The salt water series of MC would be my first choice and they have way more models to choose from as well. They have the CSX or something which has the middle console which is a bit different but people have said it's one of MC's best wakeboarding hulls. They also make some bigger boats if your in bigger waters sometimes. not knowing much about salt water and the issues relating to it I would talk to both dealers and see what they have to say.

You know, I'm not sure what all goes in to making a salt water series MC.
One good thing about a CC 230 is that the PCM ZR engines are closed cooling.

|
|
We're selling our 2007 Sea Ray 210 Select.
We were worried about a some of the other boats holding up in salt water after reading some reviews, but Sea Rays are made for it and it's held up perfectly.
Saying all that it still might not be enough boat for you, but I just thought I'd share.
Here's a posting:
http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/boa/1323491376.html
We'll be including some Liquid Force gear plus wakeboard rope among other things. Email me if your interested.
Thanks

I have a SANTE 210 with freshwater closed cooling and primarily use it in saltwater. I love it - no problems. I still flush it every time I use it but the closed cooling system is designed for saltwater use.

Xstar is easy to convert to closed cooling and the wake is good with a little ballast or better with lots of ballast

That is a red swim platform. the piping in my boat is red, and the dealer thought it would look good to have a matching platform. Needless to say, I'm in the market for a black platform.

Go and test drive all the top brands of boats. Check out each dealership and get a feel for each shop. Then compare each boat line with similar models. Do not buy a boat based on votes in a thread on the internet. Get out in each boat and take a test drive.

I agree, but you certainly can use these threads to narrow your search. The best thing you can do is list your price range, location, local dealer options, what you want to do with the boat - ski/wb/hang out, how many folks you think you'll have on it on a routine basis, etc.
With that info, we can help suggest some boats to look at.

onlyinboards,
Thanks man. I'm stoked to have it too.
I just found out my new wheels (black rockstars) came in and boatmate is going to take my trailer back, widen the fenders, put a spare mount on, and get me some new shoes. I can't say enough about the customer service I get from www.boatmatetrailers.com.
Now all I need is a black platform...
BTW, I need to call you anyway. I've got a few friends looking for boats right now.
