That's the first review I've seen on this board. Is it fast on the pump or just cruising?

Its fast on both- it's just a slippery board. It's made like real surfboards- so its super light and slippery cause it's made out of fiberglass. the only problem i got with that is it makes it way more fragile- I accidentally bumped it on the swim deck and the paint came off and it got dinged..... well i guess it can't be new forever

Also, is it thicker like a surfboard or is it thin like the skim style boards? We want one that has a more surf board feel to it.

it's thick like a surfboard its just made with fiberglass and surfboard construction so if it got chipped u could repair it like a surfboard but idk about the finboxes my dumby wumby brother stood on it on the ground and broke the middle fin off so i bought a new fin but i had to drill new holes, though

I am working on our 2010 Ronix order. I have heard good stuff about this board from some of my surf friends. I cannot wait to get one of these out on the water. I did not check out the fin boxes at expo so I am not sure what type of fin boxes if any are on this board.

Its a box installed into surfboards, that allows you to swap out fins. Different than a molded fin, or a screw in fin. Fins on a wakeboard are for tracking. Fins on a surfboard determine alot more about the ride. Speed, pump action, and breakaway.

Just looked at the images from the Ronix dealer catalog. No fin boxes on the Koal. Two screws from the top down into the fins.

You could always install FCS plugs. Many people install them into boards after the board is completed. As long as the board is thick enough, you could go that route to open up your fin options.

I went from a HL broadcast to a Koal this year, unbeleivable difference. So much faster and loves to carve, I have the 5' and it is a great board for a 200 lbs rider.

We have the 2010 Koal boards in stock now I cannot wait to ride one this summer. Not sure if I want to be on a 5.6 or a 5.0. 185lbs so I think I should get a 5.
