I currently am riding a LF Shane 2007 BEHIND A BOAT, and i love it. i live in southeast Wisconsin and am taking a trip up near the appleton area to ride on a river that we love up there and do a little camping. Recently somebody built a mini cable park up there and is using a sessitec system 2.0 with one rail and one kicker. since i have always wanted to try cable out we probably are going to spend a day there during our vacation but my question is since i have never ridden with rails or anything of the such and have what i consider to be a very expensive and nice board should i use an older board for the cable or am i alright riding with my current setup. The shanes do have four 1/4 to 1/2 inch molded in fins and i would most likely want to take the others out also but will the sliders be so detrimental to my board that i should also take my old setup with me and just ride that at the park?

I usually get to OWC and ride the cables about once or twice a year. I always use whatever setup I'm riding at the time. Personally I'd rather use the setup that I'm used to than try to get the feel for a new board/bindings while I'm trying to to hit kickers and rails at the same time.

Yeah, there's a chance you could damage your board. At the very least there will be some scuffs on it. If you can't live with that then by all means use a beater board.
