Genital protection

Anyone where anything to protect the male genitals while riding? I was out learning heelside backroll's last night and smacked the kids pretty hard a couple of times. I was thinking of some under armor to keep them in tight or something. There has to be someone else who has had this problem.

I have felt it more wakeskating then wakeboarding when you kinda fall backwards. It doesnt feel good but i forget the pain is there once i get upon again so me personally no.

I wear boardshorts with a neoprene liner (like a wetsuit) rather then mesh. Cuts down on the ball slap, and lake enema's Wink

They are made by jet pilot

yeah ive been going linerless lately (its been 102 for a month plus) and man im getting alot more slappers. i think even a set of breifs underneith might help

JeffreyCH, I know what you mean by lake enema's. I over rotated a tantrum last time out and landed right on my ass. It seriously felt like it ripped me open. Laughing

djezbrad, You must be doing something very wrong. I don't think I hever once hurt my balls learning backrolls. Hell I don't think i ever even had a bad crash doing them.

big_steve: I think i hit them after an over rotation and the board kicked straight up and I went balls first into the water. I have been wakeboarding for like 6 years now and never slapped them as hard as the other day. I am thinking maybe a speedo setup for now might work. Its defenitley more of an issue with increasing temps.

Like Jeff said, JetPilot ride shorts. Come in lycra or neoprene liners. I wouldn't recommend the neoprene unless you live in a very cool area.

I rode without my rideshorts yesterday and regretted it, twice. NEVAR AGAIN.

I wear compression shorts under my boardshorts

You can get them at wal mart for 10 bucks

RHAWN i agree. i have the jetpilot neopreme and i cut the liner out cause my junk would smell like a sweaty whore after a long nights work!!!! Shocked

A word of advice for those wearing/considering the neoprene lined ride shorts. Do not wear them unless riding, I got pretty buzzed last Sat. and hung out all afternoon in 'em, they chaff.....BAD! So if you are not riding, change out of them. They can be a bit uncomfortable in the heat unless you keep them wet. I'll take a little discomfort to reduce the enema and slap.

I have caught the ball slap, but never hard enough to warrant deciding change my apparel. I can definately see it is possible. One I my worst ones was rather than falling on them, the board slid out from in front of me on a landing and I skipped along on my balls for a few feet.

Worst ball slap wakeboarding was from casing the wake while I was learning to w2w. It doesn't feel good at all, but I deal I guess. Boardshorts are it for me.
