a bit confused and needs some help from you experts Cool

ive got an older pair of LF bindings that the plates are flexing and the heal is raising like 3/4" (so much so the pull tab on the laces gets stuck underneith the heal) you can see the white lines on the plate where its flexing (you know how plastic turns white once its been bent) since there not actually broke and still work i assume there no chance for warranty.

anyway thats not really my question.

i was looking at a pair of 08 shane bindings. im confused on the bolt pattern.
1.what is the OG industry standard? 8"?
2. what are the 08 LF bindings? 6" ?
they offer an adapter plate you can buy.
3. what size are those?

ive got a 08 shane board, so i assume the 08 shane bindings will fit that. (edit: well maybe not "Optional 6” plate available for use with all 2008 LF Boards")
4. what about 04-07 HL?
5. what about 08-09 slingshot?

my current bindings fit all these and i like that (has slots on one side and double row holes on the other.

just confused about the bolt spacing on the 08 LF shane bindings. they make it sound like there unique.

Embarassed

Hey man - you holding down Belton Lake for those of us that can't? What a great place to ride. When you coming to the deep south for a visit? I'll take you out on our home lake or over to one of the rivers.

As for your conundrum.... You know I'm a huge LF fan. I've ridden all the brands over the years, and have stuck with LF the past 3 yrs straight. But this hole pattern thing seems like a bad idea. My thinking is that as the binding plates get baseless and smaller, so they have to adjust the patterns on the boards. Make sense? Thats great and all and I love my baseless super light FLY bindings on my 2009 LF board. But when I want to ride rails and try to strap the bindings to my Slingshot....no go. So I order the retrofit locks, no big deal right? I get them in and they are crazy heavy! Whats the point of super light bindings if they are only super light on an LF board?

My advice to you is to pick one of a few choices:

1.) Get yourself some 07-09 slingshot bindings and utilize their 4 bolt pattern on your slingshot board.

2.) Rock out a pair of 2007 or older Shanes (yes my straps got stuck under the baseplate...cut your laces shorter or tuck them under themselves)

3.) Get the adapter plate for 08 and 08 shanes. (The 08 Shanes were a HUGE step up from the 07s. I still have mine and will never sell them...great pair of bindings)

I've been through number 3 and number 2....recently decided to move to choice 1.

Good luck with whatever you decide man! Tell the Belton crew I said hello.

PS - 2nd degree MCL tear earlier this summer on an OA TS 5....first day back will be this weekend. Will be wearing a brace, but still Stoked!

This should help clear things up a bit. It shows info for all years LF bindings. If you ride all the way out (or in) you're going to have issue with 08 or 09 LF bindings on other boards.

http://www.liquidforce.com/pdf/2009-LF-Plate-Insert-Compatibility.pdf

See here that there are other brands going in the same direction (and apparently for good reason):

And if you're still not sure, call Ed. He'll know. Very Happy

damn bro that sucks about the MCL, you have been so lucky with few injuries over the years. glad to hear your back at it this weekend.

You gotta be careful at skiers alley when it gets low....lots of stumps on the opposite side of the sand bar. Proptek in Morgans point can take care of you if you hit any stumps (or rocks). They do a really good job at repairs.

Yeah, come on out whenever. Visitors are always welcome!
