Ever since I got my fat sack, I couldn't figure why the bildge was always full of water after pulling somebody. Sure people coming in and out of the boat brings in some water, but the bildge would run for a good 2 min.

I never saw the boat get swamped by the wake coming back on the boat when I was slowing down to pick up the boarder, but I figured out that the water was coming in the blower vents that are on the back of the boat. Two of the vents have blowers attached to them, two don't. While the water wasn't coming up over the transom, it was coming high enough to come into the vents which are connected to the bildge. When I listened closely, i could hear the water gurgling in the vents with the blowers.

So if you have an older boat with a low transom. and you have a fat sack in the back seat, watch your bildge even if the water isn't coming up over the transom.

I haven't had that problem and my boat rides really low in the water. Just can't slow down too fast.
