if you take a look at the activision02 website http://www.activisiono2.com/murray.html, they say the game will come out in june 2003, it was supposed to be in december 2002, ther retarded it to march 03 and now to june... that's stuff

yeah i just read about it on wakeworld....i really dont like how they decided to change the name...and the date...the pro wakeboarder would have got alot more publicity i think with more buyers!

I think it will be worth the wait. The game at demo form needed alot of work. I really don't like them telling people the release date(s) if they are not sure themself's. From the other games they have put out,I think it will be a good game.

what's up with the name change???

I think it would have done better under the old name. The ______'s pro _____ naming has done them well and the new name just sounds really corny. It reminds me of the series of like 20 "Extreme" games that were all rated under 2 out of ten. The games were like "extreme paintbrawl" and "extreme bullriding".

The company knows people like us are going to buy it. Now they are trying to market it to the masses that have no idea about wakeboarding. If it helps the sport then call it anything they want.

I think it's a stupid move... all the other games are called "thps" or "spps" or "mhpb" why not continue the trend? The new name sounds horrible and I think it does make wakeboarding look like another one of those stupid sports...

It's cool Alan, no offense taken at all. I just think wakeboarding isn't as well known as skateboarding or snowboarding. Whenever these sports are presented in video game format and have a pro associated with the game it's always ______'s Pro _____ like bluefish said. I think when skaters and snowboarders see the game in stores they'll see the name and think it's just another crappy game for a sport that nobody cares about. I know that a LOT of people don't know what wakeboarding is. I'm sure if they play the game they'll think twice about thinking it sucks, but people do judge books by their covers.

Dude this sux big time! I was hoping for the game to come out in march but now June! It probably wont be any different from before, and I bet Byerly's game is gunna own it because it will also have wakeskating. The name is pretty crappy too

I honestly though that was a joke when I first heard it..... WTF? Seriously, there is no way I'm going to say to people.... "hey man, you should check out 'Wake unleashed' if you want to see wakeboarding." Sounds like a freakin' Steven Segal movie or something......

There has got to be another reason that they are changing the name and Activision won't disclose it. There is no way it can be for marketing reasons because that is just plain stupid. They had a proven title that works and they go and change it to something so stupid in an attempt to sell more copies? No way. The entire marketing department needs to be fired if that is the case. I don't buy it. I mean, we represent the target market of video game companies, especially this particular one, and all you hear from us is how lame the name change is and how most potential buyers tend to steer clear of the "extreme" games. There has got to be another reason for the name change, legal trouble? Copyright? who knows? Shaun if you are out there, save us!

they probly changed the name because its such a little known sport that they think the game might not sell, and they dont want the name associated with nything other than top sellers. gamers want a name that they can trust and if this game isnt a big seller the popularity of the tony hawks games may go down as well. from some screenshots ive seen it looks like they are changing the HUD and it looks better but i thot this game woulda been a great way to get thru the winter but looks like thats not gunna work out.

Man shaun murrays game is really shitty and gay. It sucks when u can slide a house boat, let go of the rope, jump to another houseboat, slide it, do a tantrum off the houseboat, grab the handle and then land on a manual. This is just another dumb ass tony hawk game with wakeboarding. I mean its about time they came out with a wakeboarding game, but this is just sad. Hopefully Byerly's game will be more real.
