Yup, picked up a new board last night. Been saving for a while by tossing my poker winnings from the friendly games I play in from time to time and all the spare change I get from buying small things. FInally got enough scratch together to get an 08 Hyperlite Murray 140. THis is replacing my HL Apex 142.
Lots of differences between the two boards. THe Apex is a Subtle 3 stage and less pronounced. THe Murray has a hybrid and cupped around the center fin. Plus, even being 2 cm shorter its wider and has more surface area than the Apex.
I bought this after participating in the Pay it Forward, Riding a CWB Faction and a LIquid Force Model that I can't remember the name of. What I gathered from all of them is I prefer a bit slower board with more pop. Being a bit on the heavy side for wakeboarding, the extra pop helps with air. Plus I liked the feel of the landings on the Murray the best.
So, I get my first ride tonight. Hopefully all will go well.
