I am about to have the following system installed and would like to hear any thoughts you may have on the system (I don't know much about JL Audio but the installer insists on their quality):
1 JL M6600 75w 6 ch amp
1 JL M1700 700w 1 ch amp
2 JL M10IB5CGWh
2 WS PRO 60 w/swivels
1 WS 420
4 JL m650-ccx-w
I am comparing it to Wetsounds.
Thanks

I love my JL AMP. I mean it could be a beat clearer at loud volumes, but the 6 CH makes the install so clean and compact. _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN

Sticking with JL cause that is what you listed not for bias or anthing, I would go with the JL MHD600.4 channel for the interior and tower speakers...running at 4 ohms unless you are bridging you are only getting 75 watts apiece to the tower...I would take the 4x150 600.4 and run the 4 interior off 2 of the channels and use the other 2x150 to the tower....gets you 75x4 for your interior and 150x2 to the tower. You want more then 75watts to those tower speakers....I would even want 200-300 per channel to those speakers..better to have more clean power so those amps don't have to be pushed to get volume....
When comparing the initial cost of the amps versus upgrading later and paying for the price of install and amp twice, better to buy more amp then necessary now then later. |

Thanks for all of your replies (including Yours Tim).
I will be asking my installer (one thing I never mix is water and electricity ) to evaluate and upgrade my amps if necessary. For a $4k system, I want it LOUD and Clear! (There are several other things he is doing as well as supplying a few other goodies so really a $3200 system. and he is very, very reputable and takes no shortcuts except to budget. I will update after and post pics.
