SO i got it set in my mind this year that i was going to learn. And i am a very impulsive person so of course i bought a board after doing some research.
im a begginer and have never really tried it before but i can snow board and skateboard as well as water ski. I am 6 foot even and weigh 155 lbs.
i found a (what i thought) hell of a deal on a new 08 Gator Board legend 138 with Gator LTD team boots.. do ya'll know anything about Gators?? from what the company told me this was the best board to learn and progress on. i still need some tips on getting up and staying up and everything else so any help is needed... thanks guys

That should be a pretty good ride for you that will be able to take you to an advanced level if you choose to go there. I believe that was the board Randall Harris rode before he moved to the Company wakeboard team, and he rips pretty hard. I don't know much about the boots though.

I too am very impulsive, so I understand the position you're in. There's plenty of videos out there to teach you proper technique. YouTube it, Google it, whatever. Go pick up The Book if you're really serious about it, I just did, and it's already got me fixing problems I didn't even know I had before watching it. My advice is to make sure you don't get discouraged out there. Remember that everyone falls... a lot. And, it takes time to build muscle memory to do things correctly again and again. Have fun, and if you get stuck, post a video on here of your problem, and get help from the guys who have had the same issues as they progressed.

Fist of all if your not falling your not trying had enough. There are alot of good movies out there for beginers. learnwake 's got alot of really good ones you can go to there web site or just find them on this site/you tube. also the rope is just as important as your board. look for on w/ no strech with pre knoted lenghts.
