| Im 21 5'9 160 and have been riding for a few years now. I have a 137 hyperlite byerly that I got when I was 15 or 16 and it is time for an upgrade. I rode my buddies slingshot reflex 141 with the PB Floyd bindings and I absolutely loved it. I loved the speed, I loved the way I could do powerslides into 180's with ease. And I loved how easy it was to jump/land with it. My skill level is intermediate, I can jump W2W heelside/toeside, toeside 180, surface 180, powerslide. I dont do cables/ parks or anything I always ride behind a boat. Would the reflex 141 be good for me or should I go for the recoil 138? Thanks for all the help! |

I have ridden all three Slingshot boards. Disclaimer: I have always ridden three-stage boards & came off of an Obrien Natural which I loved.
Response- Too fast for my riding style & not as much pop.
Reflex- Popped nicely but was inconsistant? Granted that is mostly rider error but I had a hard time on the Reflex. When It popped it popped but it would buck you funny if you weren't perfect.
Recoil- Rode and '07 for around a year and now am on the '09. Funnest board I have ever ridden. I won't say it pops more/land softer etc. because that just opens up a can of worms. I will just say I have more fun riding this board than any other board, period.
IMO, if you liked the Reflex you're gonna love the Recoil. I would also go with a 142. Kid i ride with just went to the Recoil 142 from a Marek(137?) and he is 5'3 probably 140lbs and loves it............ |

| Thanks for the input... the longest board I have ever ridden on was the 141 and I liked how stable and quick it was compared to my byerly 137. Boardersmall has the recoil 142 package for 280 right now... I am thinking that is a hell of a deal. Is the recoil as "slick" as the reflex. The main thing I loved about the reflex was the ability to really control it throughout powerslides and surface 180's.http://boardersmall.com/xcart/product.php?productid=18422&cat=602&page=1 |

I have never ridden the other SS boards, but I absolutely love my Response. I was always a 3-stage guy as well, but I have no issue getting pop from my board and it's more consistent off the wake with the continuous. So much fun. I think all of their boards will be pretty awesome regardless. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |
