I really want to learn my first handle pass invert and Im more comfortable with toeside trip flips. I can do frontrolls consistently and have Scarecrows, TS BS 180s and TS FS 3s down as well.
On the trampoline, I can do switch tootsies all day long, but regular feels a little unnatural. Maybe itll be better now that Im doing TS BS 180s again.
Crow Mobes feel pretty natural on the tramp, but I have trouble getting the spin all the way around, even when Im pulling really hard on the handle. The last 90 degrees doesnt want to come around and I dont want to take back edge catches all day
The last factor is that I always do my frontroll based tricks into the flats, which seems OK for a tootsie, but not good for the crow mobe. If I try to do them just wake to wake its hard to get the flip all the way around. Any tips on learning that? I was thinking for the crow mobe I might ride 5 feet longer and slow down a little so even with my hard cut Ill land wake to wake, but I would still probably have lots of line tension from a hard cut into the wake.
From what Ive heard, the tootsie should be much easier, but the crow mobe seems a little more natural. Any advice on which to try first? Tips? How are the falls? Thanks |

Hmm tough choice, looking back on my progression I learned the tootsie first. For me it felt more natural and I figured I would be able to land that before a crowmobe. In hindsight I would of just worked on them both at the same time. If it makes any difference I can do them both with little to no issue, but Ive taken harder falls on the tootsie. Taking it wake to wake is key, get your edge dialed in so that you dont over/undershoot and it should help alot. Try them and if your having problems report back. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

Today I tried both...I have video but I dont know if I can upload it (its .mov) and im PC so I cant edit it to just the right clip vs. 30 min set. The tootsies were hard as hell to get around. I couldnt get more than 90 or 100 degrees of the 180 around...the frontroll isnt a problem. I wasnt able to get the handle with my right hand (Im reg) so Im sure thats why. I think I was throwing the 180 too late. Even though I felt like I was pulling right off the wake, I didnt feel it start to spin until about halfway around. Ill have to figure out how to take off and throw the 180 simultaneously because a late tootsie isnt working. Luckily I didnt catch my back edge as hard as I could have.
Then I tried the crow mobe. I only tried two but they feel so much more natural. The first one was a feeler. My crow feels like the perfect kind to take to crow mobe so I just popped a crow and right as I would spot the water I just kept looking over my shoulder and pulling on the handle and it kept coming around. The second one I didnt even pop that high but it came right around. I landed on my butt at about 300 degrees through the 3. I think if I just throw the frontroll harder its definitely doable. Im stoked. |

LFADAM, crow mobe is really easy. Like you said, just pop the scarecrow, spot the water, then just pull it to blind right at the last instant. I've only landed one tootsie a long time ago so I can't help you there |

Crow mobe was a little low, try to pop it more straight up so you can land on the downside and also have more time to spot the water and let it come around the rest of the way.
With the tootsie, you just need to turn your shoulders off the wake so that you throw the trick more like a cartwheel rather than a roll. It will make the handlepass much easier and the trick so much smoother. |

holdsworth, yea I definitely will focus on getting more pop on the crow mobe. I was trying those at 65 ft and 21mph because I was freakin out about trying handle pass inverts. I think Ill go back to 75 at 23 so I have more hang time and hopefully itll come around easier. The tootsie, I need to work on with the trampoline, I can do the spin nice and early and "land" the trick every time when I do it switch on the tramp, but I have a tougher time getting the back 180 regular, even on the tramp, so Ill work on that. Thanks |
