Hello everyone! i am new here and enjoy reading these forums. heres the deal. ive been wakeboarding alittle over a year now. my board is one of those hydroslide decks from sports authority. my ability is still novice to intermediate. i can jump the wake, ride switch, do 180s, grabs and overall am pretty comfortable on the board. I am wondering if maybe i should upgrade from such a cheap board to something more stable for me?? thanks for any help everyone!!

H20Flo66, If you're comfortable with all of that, it sounds like it's time for an upgrade. There are a lot of 'what board should I get' threads on this site if you do a search.

If you have the opportunity to, demo a bunch of different boards to see which one you like the best. There's all kinds of different shapes/sizes out there and everyone has a slightly different preference.

Depending on how serious you want to get with the sport you have a few options. You can buy a boot/board combo (there are actually some pretty decent ones out there) or if you really want to throw down the money, you can always buy the board and bindings separately. Usually I search for the best deal I can get by getting closeout gear. A lot of the time a board shape won't change that much from year to year so if you can find some '08 gear and don't mind having last year's graphics, you can get a really good deal.

I found a hyperlite state series package from 2008. Its a 140 cm for about 270. I weigh 175 and am 6 foot. Good deal or is this board too novice for my standards? Like i said im just looking to get some bigger air and complete harder rotations and not on my 2x4 hydroslide. Laughing
