First thing I noticed on that toeside is look at your nose when you hit the wake its pointing at the boat. you want your nose pointed at the wake when edging in toeside just like you would heelside. Second when you hit the wake heelside the second time it looks like your sucking your knees up, think about this if you going to jump off the ground do you pull your knees up or push down off the ground? Try to keep you handle in close and upperbody straight. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

Your HS cuts look good, you just seem to be backing off a little too much at the wake, like shaggy said, you're absorbing a lot of the pop with your bent knees and not standing tall to get your pop. _________________ Neuston Boards

Thanks for the tips guys. I will be heading to the lake this weekend. We're installing an extended pylon on the boat. I'll def keep the advice in mind.
Problem is, I'm from Oklahoma and we're supposed to have a chance of snow tomorrow...wtf..
But I don't care, I got a dry suit so I'll try to hit the water Saturday or Sunday atleast. Maybe I'll get a pic wakeboarding with snow coming down. lol
Anyways, I'll give an update later on. BTW, I gotta say this site has been a tremendous help with the tips section and all and I appreciate all you guys hooking us noobs up with some great advice. Wish me luck.
Later |

Their advice is pretty good. I'm just a step or two in front of you with my skills. Whereabouts in OK are you? I'm up in the Tulsa area. We go to Skiatook most of the time. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

There's a fair amount of people on this forum that are down in that area. You might throw up a thread in the "Find a pull" section. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

that first jump you seemed really rear heavy, alot of weight on the back foot, you made it work, just an observation (it was something i struggled with alot being a skier) _________________

There is something on your video people have pointed out in the past. If you watch your HS w2w approach, you notice that the rooster tail coming off your board disappears about 5 feet out from the wake. Take a look at 2:12 compared to 2:13 in your second video. Now watch videos of guys getting great pop off of the wake, you will notice that they are still generating a rooster tail all the way up to the point when they leave the water.
Let me caviot this by saying that I suck at wake boarding and I am just regurgitating what I advice I have been given in the past. _________________ Lets see how many cliche inspirational sayings we can throw at the rider in one pull, they really do help... |

JeffreyCH, yeah the pylon made a pretty big difference. Now all I need is some major weight in the boat to fix the small, narrow wake. BTW, in this last vid, I shortened the rope one link. So I was up about five feet closer. Hopefully I can move back when we get some weight in there.
brotherbrown831, thanks for the tip. I see what you mean. I watched some video in "The Book" and watched how they cut through the wake. It looks like I'm almost taking a tantrum type approach by coming off edge. I'll work on it next time and let you guys know what happens. |

Also from the Tulsa area. I've got some friends that go ride in Prior, but I've never been to Skiatook. Does it get very crowded on the weekends? I usually go down to Tenkiller because my friend has a few cabins down there, but you have to know the "secret spots" to find good water mid-day on the weekends. _________________

thanks guys. This site has definitely helped me alot. I actually sprained my ankle a few weeks ago trying my first HS Backroll. But I went again this past saturday and just took it easy. So I'm just trying to get back into the groove again.
I'll probably have some more video in a couple weeks or so... |
