My rope starts at 55 ft and end at around 70ft. I ride 65ft w/ a tower. For your boat its really going to depend on where the wakes at it best, and also what your riding level is. You really want to look for a rope w/ no strech. You can buy a pre-knoted rope' or just knot it at diffrent lenghts.

mucksoup's got it right. As far as 'where the wake is at it's best', try and be just in front of where the wake starts to wash out. This distance will change based on the speed you ride at and the weight of the boat. The idea is to be at the wake near it's peak before it begins to curl over itself.

Ultimately you want to be 55-60 ft. behind the boat, if you are riding off the ski hook on the back take out 2-3 5' sections depending on where the sweet spot is. A shorter rope will make learning w2w easier, but too short and you'll be riding the prop wash.
