I have never messed with audio much. I am just looking for basic knowledge on tower speakers, like how to install them. I have been wakeboarding for a long time but havnt ever done much mechanically.

What do you mean by installing them??, the speakers, the wires?, or both?

The speakers pretty much come with their own mounts to mount to the tower. I just installed a set of two dual speakers on my boat, and I just put them where I thought they looked the best, and then marked where the wires hooked to them.

Then I drilled a hole in my tower above each speaker, and also a hole in the top and bottom of one of the back legs on my tower. Then I drilled a hole in the top of my boat, just below the bottom hole on the tower leg.

Now I ran two speaker wires, from my amp, out the boat hole, into the bottom leg hole, then out of the upper leg hole, then jumped over to the hole in the top tower tube that holds the speakers, and then ran one wire out to the first pair of speakers, then went over to the next hole, and pulled the wire out to the other pair of speakers.

Before I ran my wiring, I installed rubber grommets with sealant to every hole I drilled. I let them dry and set up good, then I ran all of my wiring.

I ran one wire to each pair of speakers. I installed the wire to one of the speakers in the pair, and then made a jumper wire to connect to the second speaker of each pair,

Finally I wrapped wire loom, around any and all wires where they were exposed.

Hope this helps you

How did you fish the wire in the tubing of the tower? You make it sound so easy, but I was waiting for you to describe how you got it through the tube to where you wanted it to go.

Well I have a Monster Tower, so I drilled a hole towards the bottom of one of the back legs, then drilled a hole in the horizontal bar that would hold the speakers, and then two more holes one each above each speaker.

Then I just took my two speaker wires, and inserted them into the top hole of the back leg. I just let the gravity help lower them until I could see them in the bottom hole. Then I just used a stiff piece of wire that i made a small hook on the end of, to reach in the bottom hole and guide the two wires out. I then pulled plenty enough wire out to go into the hole in the boat and to the amp.

Then I took a some string and pushed it up into the speaker hole that was the farthest from the back leg hole. i pushed a good bit of string up into the tube, and then used a small shop vac to suck the string over to the nearest speaker hole to the back leg, then pushed a good bit of string back up into that hole, and then used the shop vac again to suck the string over to the hole coming out of the horizontal tube by the back leg.

now I used the wire hook again to hook the string and pull it out of the hole. Then I simply taped the two speaker wires to the string, and then went back to the farthest hole and begin pulling the string which then pulled the speaker wires through the horizontal tube. i pulled both speaker wires all the way over to the farthest hole. then i untaped them from the string and then simply pullled the one speaker wire back to it's hole, and again used the hook to pull the wire out.

Hope this helps

Absolutely, the shop vac is a good idea. Never really thought of that before.

Just mount them and drill the hole and push with the fish. Hooked up 4 cans with a wire for each in about 30 min.
