I have 2 boys (ages 8 and 10) that really want to begin the process of getting involved in wakeboard tournaments/competitions. I have no idea about what tricks they should know in order to compete at the most basic level, any suggestions you can provide? I can't find any information on this, I'm certain they aren't ready yet because they are just starting to catch air, they can successfully do surface 180's, a 180 in the air and a surface 360, my oldest can also do some board grabs in the air. They have now built up the guts to start bigger tricks but I don't know where to direct them in terms of what tricks they will need to master so they can at least compete in a Junior type of level at a tournament. Any responses or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just get involved. Go to tournaments, enter a few local ones and see where the riding level is at.

Once they get older there will be multiple divisions within an age group based on the level of tricks (limiting numbers of inverts, spins, etc.). Generally though there is only one divison for kids that young so the best thing to do is just get them involved and they'll pick it up.
