ive rode 3 times in the past 2 wks and the first time i just didnt feel comfortable riding its like i was doing something wrong but i figured out what is was i wasnt holding the rope low enough. i can know edge ok but it still needs improvement but the good news is I feel comfortable. i did a couple of ollies, doubt i did it right though. i watch detention 2012 about two times a week but i know the best thing is practice. and is there something i can put by the handle so it don't sink to the bottom. i have bulletline rope and hadle or do i just need to get a new handle?

Get a couple chunks of foam rubber plumbing pipe insulation, put a piece on each side of the "Y" part and duct tape it closed. I know, I know ghetto, but it will float.

How quickly does the handle/rope sink? Even if a handle does not have floats it shouldn't sink unless the boat is stopped (the water pressure will keep the line on the surface if the boat is in motion). Sinking shouldn't be a problem when picking up a fallen rider.

If you are switching riders, it's always a good idea (albeit a little more work) to pull the rope in and just give the new rider the handle when they jump in the water. It's a little extra work but I've seen quite a few ropes get caught up underneath a boat/in the propeller, etc. and that just makes for a bad afternoon.

JeffreyCH's idea will work well also. (or you can cut up a fun-noodle thing and tape it to the 'y' for a splash of this summer's latest colors Colorful )

They're right, a floater will take care of your problem regardless of what it is; however, I nicer handle will float no problem if you're just looking to spend some money. Don't try to move up to quickly. Trying intermediate tricks before you have even the most basic wake to wake down will not only discourage, but most likely injure you. It's not going to prevent you from looking good for the ladies (especially since there's nothing GOOD about slapping your face on the water). The pros can do a simple 180 air and look better doing it than most can pulling their most impressive invert. Wake to wakes, grabs, 180s, and switch riding should keep you busy for quite some time unless you're one of those child prodigies that achieve in a week what most can't in a year.

i still do all the basics when i go out i just try to learn a new trick every time i go. and trust me im not trying to impress no one. im to worried about doing stuff the right way. I will get me some type of floater though. bulletline is sending me a new handle cause the grip on the handle started to come off after using it like 3 times in less than month

brad_layin_low, I was more or less joking about you impressing people. I usually try to improve on at least one thing everytime out, but I know it's always a great feeling to land something new. That victory beer is the best taste in the world. Wink
