Just curious because The Book doesn't really talk about it as far as progression. At some point I think it would be helpful to have an OA 1 or 3 under your belt. Should it be after 3s? Before or after raleys? Just wondering what your thoughts are. _________________

Like most tricks it's different for everyone. I can't do them but I've tried a few and come close (kept missing the handle but landed mostly on my feet), for me it was a big mental thing that I couldn't get over. also, I ride behind a boat maybe a few times a year so that doesn't help either.
You definitely don't need to learn a Raley or any specific trick before you do it. Just be comfortable with a couple inverts (backrolls are useful) and a 360 or BS 180's (so you're used to passing the handle).
As with a lot of this sport, if you're feeling comfortable with it, huck it and see how it goes. |

Sounds good. I feel different about everything once I get on the water, so in due time I guess. I just thought it would help to be comfortable letting the board out and bringing it back in even if it's just a 180 to pick up bigger things down the road. _________________
