lol Cool
let me start at the begining i guess.
Sunday: after riding all day saturday, we decide to go back out sunday. audreys been riding about an hour and its almost my turn. pulling her up one last time, and BAM BRAABRAABRAABRAABRAABRAABRAA
masssive hit and vibrations. i yank the throttle in nuetral and motor dies. refire same thing massive vibrations and noise. i swim under the boat a few times checking the prop. felt fine. so as were siting there floating in the water trying to figure out how to get back to the dock. suddenly ALL the boats leave the cove, and the wind just dies completely, and there we are in a dead boat for nearly a half our surrounded by GLASS. life is so ironic.
get home it is the prop, nut is like fkn welded on and then the prop is pressed on. arg hassle!
SO this is when the story really gets going.
Monday: with my boat out of commision we borrow my brother in laws 99 tige for an after work sunset session. get home load the gear in the truck. i go to grab one of my sacs out of my boat to fix the tige's washed out wake, and bam rip a hole in it. some one put the anchor on top and i couldnt see it. then were finally on the road to the boat storage. and my sister realizes she forgot the key to the boat in her car at my house. back track and get to the storage. i i dont see how the hitch works, after 5 minutes i finally figure out how to use the fancy hitch for the trailer with brakes and get it pulled out. try to hook up lights, it has 5 pin, i have 4 pin on the jeep. arg. o well were only going 1 block to the ramp, and its daylight. so we head to the gas station so my sis can fill up the boat. as i start pumping. the gas (eye level) the gas shoot back out the hole and straight into my face. covering me. luckily i had sunglasses on and they SAVED my eyes. but it burned like hell on my sunburn for hours, even after washing up in the bathroom, gas just soaks in too fast. not to mention the 93 octane colone smell Laughing
so we get to the boat ramp, start loading the gear in the boat. and i remember we need to put the drain plug in. you guessed it, drain plug is in my brother in laws truck. crap! its getting late now and were out of time. we just give up. head back to take the storage to return the boat. i start to back up and the brakes lock up on the trailer. crap. because going backwards compresses the tongue and activates the brakes cause it thinks you going forward and slowing down. apparently that 5th wire on the trailer lights DEactivates the brakes when it senses the reverse light. so there we are stuck. and cant get ahold of my brother in law cause hes out in the boonies out of service. finally threw a network of his freind we get ahold of him and hes able to come out and get the boat put up.
was just a disaster of a couple days.
and here it is tuesday, and im stuck with a boat with a bent prop and no way to get it off. arg. thats life. Cool

Sucks man.
On the backing up deal, just flip the plug around the other way and turn your lights on, that will shut off the brake servo. Or you can stick a socket in the part that slides to keep it from activating the brakes.

If you didn't get the prop off already check with a local boat shop, they should lend you a prop puller to get it off.

Been there man. We had a similar day a couple of years ago. It was memorial day weekend, the boat had been running fine, but as we were about to pull out with the boat, someone asked if the prop was "supposed to look like that". I have no idea what happened to it, but it was jacked up, all I could figure was a rock while we were driving or something, as we have to go about 25 miles to the lake. We hurried and found the old prop (not great but ok) and spent about 45 minutes getting the stupid thing on there. Finally we get to the lake, drop the boat in, cruise around a little, head to a beach to drop some junk and non-riders off. I start up the boat to get after our first sets, the motor starts, idles, and as soon as I give it gas it absolutely falls on its face. Start it back up, idles fine, so I push the neutral button and give it some gas. It won't rev at all, clacks and knocks and makes a ton of noise, so I shut it off. Upon checking the dipstick I find a mocha latte and a ton of water. That's when we notice all the oil streaming from the back of the boat into the lake. Mad Mad Naturally, there was not another boat on the lake at this very moment (about 7am) so we spent an hour with the anchor line walking the boat around to the ramp. Turned out one of the heads was cracked and a couple of valves bent. The motor was worked, and thus ended our season for the year. On friggin memorial day! Yeah, I definitely feel your pain.

its funny you mention that. one of his freinds said that over the phone before my brother in law came out. but we couldnt figure out what he was talking about, and im still not sure what you mean by the other way? one plug was 4 pin, and the trailer 5 pin, and we didnt see a way to flip anything. male and female pins where always in the wrong spot. let alone not the same # of pins.
yeah we tryed to find something to wedge in there but no luck. on my old boat i always carry my full tool box, cause ya just never know. Laughing

yeah i hit up local boat shop monday morning. closed. went back, this morning. and they couldnt help. they only work on bass boats and I/O. and said even if they did have the right puller they wouldnt rent it to me, said i would have to bring the boat in and they would have to charge me $80 for the 1 hour minimum labor charge Rolling Eyes
i found a place in austin that sells pullers, repairs and sells props. probly gonna buy a puller from them (i FINALLY got the nut off) and buy a puller and have them beat on the prop for me.

have you ever seen a prop bent so smoothly in your life? not a ding, scratch, or fold anywhere, just the smoothest arc. thats why it felt fine when i was swiming under there checking it.

heres the pics i sent to the prop repair shop this morning

the line is where the trailing edge SHOULD be

here you can see the hole blade is shifted as well. again. note not so much as a mark hardly on it.

I've had gas get shot out at my face without sunglasses. Burns like hell!!!! I was changing the fuel filter on my car and it was being a bitch to get off and finally it busted loose, missed the bucket i had ready for gas and went straight into my face.

With the light, just flip the plugs over next time until the reverse lights show on the trailer, even though truck is in park or a forward gear. It will deactivate the brakes.

yeah they won't line up, the female and the first male on the trailer end will not be hooked up to anything. It lines your headlights up with the brake servo lockout wire and sends the same signal as the reverse lights being on.

Sucks they won't rent or lend you the puller, if you can weld you can rig one out of a C-clamp real quick. The puller is nothing but a C-clamp with forks on the end to pull the prop off as you tighten the screw. The new prop doesn't need to be beat on. It should be a tapered shaft with a keyway, you just put it on and tighten the nut up. They get really tight because the spinning of the prop will force it's self further up the shaft as the boat runs.

Oh and if you do end up pulling it yourself use a long wrench or ratchet to tighten the screw on the puller. Sometimes when they let go they shoot off, you don't want your hands or arms in front of that if it happens

Then remember to turn your headlights on. The fifth plug is usually connected to your reverse lights so it knows when you are backing up. So all you're doing is tricking the trailer w/ the the flip and headlights on.

Man I feel your pain. We had some pain in the rear stuff happen to us. Well we where riding in our little spot in this nice canal that blocks all the wind out so pretty much is just glass. I was having a good set and got tired. My Uncle turns around and comes back to pick me up. As I am taking off my board I notice that the line is in between the gap and the platform. I yank on it. Sure enough, the rope was caught in the propeller.AGAIN. This rope has got caught in our propeller a million times. Anyway, we were pretty close to the bank of the canal so me, my dad and uncle are out in the water trying to do everything we can to keep it from scratching the rocks. We were freakin out cause this a brand new SAN 220. We kept trying to push it away but boats kept coming by and ignoring us waving at them and their wakes where pushing us back closer to the bank, so literally no progress except for keeping boat from getting damaged for little over an hour. After a while we get a boat close to us and I jump in and honk the horn waving and jumping up and down. They come over and we ask if they have a knife or rope to pull somewhere. They basically told us they couldn't help us and left. So another comes by and they actually help us and pull us over to this other group of boats to see if they have a knife. They had a knife but the rope is stout and wont cut with it. Turns out the boat that told us they didn't have anything actually said they wer going to get a rope and knife. They start pulling us over to this sandbar so we can work on getting the rope undone. Bout halfway to the sandbar a thunderstorm hit and boy was it cold! The rope snapped along the way but we still managed to keep the handle. The storm ended just bout when we get over to the sandbar. Then we spend the next 10-20 min getting out the rest of the tangled rope out. We finally get it out, thank the couple that helped us, and luckily got the boat home harmless.

my family has had boats and spent all our weekends boating since i was born. but weve never had a trailer with brakes. so ive never know anything other than 4 pins and standard hitches.

What engine is in the Tige? (Read the manual, it probably doesn't want 93)

on a side note, anyone know how/ ever repaired a fat sac?
the anchor just poked probly a 1/8" hole in it. would a patch kit for a inner tube/bike tire work? the sacs are kind of rubbery?
although i guess the material is technically waterbed material right? i wonder where i could find a wonder bet punction repair kit?

STANG KILLA SS, look for a patch for a waterbed mattress. That's essentially what fatsacs are. You could probably search on here. I haven't seen that question asked in years.

+2 Very Happy Besides that having a boat is way more fun. I bet ya can't sit around drinking beer and bbq'ing at a cable park? Plus there is nothing better then after all the guests go home(or get left on shore) taking your girl out for a moonlight ride. The bow, and engine cover are great fo........well you get the idea. Wink

Sorry to hear about such a crappy day Stang, way it is, way it goes sometimes. Worst I've done is run out of gas drunk as hell about 2am. Taught me to carry a gal. of gas on board lol.
