| Check out this picture..http://twitpic.com/640cm ... I am guessing that there is concrete in the pipes, and I am wondering how to do this. Do you just mix up the concrete and poor it into the pipes then cap it off?? How much do those weigh?? THANKS! |

gdillyfunk69, I would guess it's lead actually... It has a very low melting point, and a few years back using lead was quite common as a means of balancing out the a boat. Not to mention lead is very very dense.
Be careful using static weight though, because that weight WILL pull your boat to the bottom of the lake if it gets swamped. _________________ wakeboards

You will also find that your wake will get a much "harder" feeling to it i think because it doesn't shift at all like water does. The lead is also bad for your boat hitting rollers and stuff like that for the same reason. It's awesome for weight though, especially when you have a free boat (which keith does not) but i'm sure it was at much more of a discount that you or I would pay for it. _________________ Liquid Force

Why the eff doesnt keith have a free boat?! I would buy him a boat purely for his section in Push Process! (I say i would buy him a boat, only if I could aford to buy myself a boat first, then had enough spare change to buy him one...) Surely its in the sponsers interests to give one of the best riders on the planet a free boat though!!!! _________________ burrrap |

alfromscotland, small industry ie semi blackballed after bad ties with tige i believe...(he left his boat out uncovered during one of the big hurricanes and destroyed it and hasn't had a sponsor since). Now rumors aside I have no idea why another company wouldn't pick him up. _________________ Liquid Force

| It looks rather obvious as to why he doesn't have a boat sponsor. He purchased a Malibu himself which is in countless photos and videos. No other boat company sees the need to give him a boat, he can afford his own. Malibu isn't going to give him a boat when he is already advertising for them at his expense. |

SouthWaker, He bought a used Malibu from a friend of his (Gerry Nunn i think). I doubt he's got the cash to go out and buy a brand new anything. Also, having a boat sponsor is more then just free boats every few years. It's a shame he hasn't been picked up by anyone yet, however it doesn't seem to be slowing him down any.
Didn't lyman just loose the tranny is his boat recently? Thought i heard that somewhere... |

SouthWaker, pro wakeboarders salaries are no where near other top action sports athletes. Maybe 5 of them are making over $100k a year with most of them under $50k with Lyman not being in the 100k club. Like Se7en said, he purchased that boat from Gerry Nunn which had god knows how many hours on it and definitely wasn't ever ridden without a ton of ballast. Basically Keith is giving Malibu free advertising riding that boat. Pro wakeboarders are truly in the sport because they love it as it definitely doesn't leave you rolling in the dough when your career is over. Now guys are riding pro at much older ages then they used to 5-10 years ago. You would never see a pro over 30 and now most guys are pushing the 25-30 club asides from a few of the shredders. Keith also spends big money on personal training to take care of his knees and it is truly a shame that he doesn't have a boat sponsor. _________________ Liquid Force

I doubt he really needs a boat sponsor when he can call up any of his buddies with boats. Its lyman Im sure he could just sit at a table at odub and have plenty of people offer up a ride on daddys 210 220 etc. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

Why is everyone pointing out to me that pro wake is not a wealthy career? No where in my post did I say Lyman was "Rolling in the doe".
Basically Keith is giving Malibu free advertising riding that boat.
Thanks for restating what I said. |

Pro WBers only make 50-100k a year? That's wild, I always just assumed they made what most other x-sport athletes made. Don't they get some $$ from endorsements on their boards and what not? _________________

True, but how much extra money would you have if you were put up in a house, Feed almost all the time (when they are on photo shoots, demo days, etc) as most boarders are. Plus they are given a lot of free clothes, sunglasses, boards, ropes, handles, gift bags at certain events with electronic gadgets... etc. A lot of the stuff we waste money on they get for free. Even Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods made most of their moeny off endorsements and appearances. These guys are no different, they just don't make NBA or NFL salaries. They make average to above average salaries, but have to spend a lot less of it on daily living than we do. _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN
