Looks like fun, a couple things when your edging toeside it looks like you have you front knee a little too locked, and heelside it looks like your dropping your chest.

Medina, 15 bro.

shaggyboarder, When I'm edging in TS, my front knee should be stiffer? I'm gonna get some footy up and let you and the others critique me and tell me what I need to work on. And yes, I also have to work on standing up straight.

Okie Boarder, Thanks man! Water wasn't THAT cold but I'm kind of a wimp and had to put some use to my spring top Laughing

JeffreyCH, Thanks!

MasonH, on your toeside edge, it looks to me like you're bending at the waist, which is something that will harm your progression eventually, although probably sooner than later...

Try to to think about pushing your hips forward so they are right over the top of your feet. This will allow you to keep your back straight and your chest up. As of now it looks like your hips are actually behind your heels which is causing you to be hunched over a little bit.

Also, it's hard to tell from pictures alone, but given the way your legs look, it looks like you're putting too much weight on your back foot. You really want your weight to be more or less distributed equally between your front and back feet. A lot of people do this to start with, I think because a lot of people learn how to "steer" using their back leg relying on the center fins instead of relying on the using the edges of the board.

Looks like it was nice conditions though, hope that helps out some.

MasonH, look at the video of my son. He does exactly what D88 is describing, almost to a fault. It's on that W2W thread I started. D88...maybe you can look at it too and see if what my son does is what you're describing...kinda sounds like it is.

You want your weight distributed about 60-40, in the first pic it looks like you have too much weight on your back leg and your front knee is extended pretty far, in pic two your knees and weight look about right. Just trying to point out that a common toeside problem for beginners is putting alot of weight on their back leg and straightening their front leg while edging toeside.

I am also working on my wieght distribution, and now i am training it i can see that it improves your boarding completely, your edging wil be alot more powerfull if you have weight distributed on 2 legs.
