After 9 years of riding my first and only board (HL Juvi 131) it finally delaminated beyond repair so I need a new ride. I’ve done the research and have narrowed my choices down to the HL PS3 133 & HL Trip 134 so looking for some feedback from the board.
Skill = solid intermediate (a few roles and spins)
Height = 5”8”
Weight = 155
Age = 32 but vey immature and ok with it.
Questions:
1. 3-Stage Hybrid Rocker (PS3) vs. Continuous (Trip) – my old board was continuous and it worked great for me so I was wondering if there is any compelling reason to look at a 3-stage design? Everything I’ve read says 3-stage gives you more pop and continuous is more consistent off the wake with softer landings. Are the hybrid 3-stage rockers really the best of both worlds? Any other things I should be considering? FYI, no plans to be on sliders.
2. Size – for my height and weight am I looking at the right size (133-134)? From what I understand my last 9 years have been spent on a board that is WAY to small for me.
3. Any other boards I should consider?
Would love to hear from some folks who’ve had the chance to rid these boards…outside of the rocker difference these boards seem pretty similar so having a tough time making a decision. Thanks!
If you're talking about the LF Trip I've ridden it and am a fan. It feels a lot like my HL Belmont did. However I got the 134 and wished I would have gotten a size bigger. Then again I'm a lot heavier than you - 180lbs.
I haven't ridden the PS3 so I can't vouche for it. BTW - if you go with the LF trip evo gear has a great deal on the 08 model right now. That's where I picked mine up. They actually sent me a blem (not their fault they got it from the factory that way and never knew) and they handled me really well there. So I can also vouche for that company!
Good luck and let us know what you get. You'll have to post later and let us know what you think of the ride _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before.

Neither, get a bigger board. I would suggest the next size up trip, its an easier board to ride imo. The rolled edges of the ps3 can be a little tricky to get a good edge. Both boards are great though ive owned and ridden both. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded.
