|
|
I have a Center Console Outboard motor 19.5 ft boat. I have just added a pylon type attachment that fits over the cowling which is about 7 ft off the water, so it works great. Now I am trying to work on the wake and speed.
Right now, the boat planes at about 20 mph and we can cruise at 22 pretty easily. I would like to be able to cruise at 19 mph.
Also, we have added a 725 lb ballast bag to the back of the boat, but have nothing in the front. From what I have read, there are really only two things that I could consider. One is going to a 4/5 prop blade, and the other is to add a ballast bag to the front of the boat. Any other suggestions? |

you need front ballast for sure, those center consol boats are very light, and usually dont draw much water either, not good for wake.
your gonna need alot of weight. what size motor? most are not up to the task of added weight _________________

| move your weight to the front, you already have the weight of the motor at the back. With I/Os and outboards weight in the front is more important. |

| I have a 150hp on the back. I added 300 lbs to the front today and with 4 people did alright. Definitely a noticable slower start, so thinking I will not add as much weight in the back with more people. |

A whale tail will help your plane time and allow you to stay planed at a lower speed. I have no idea what effect, if any, this will have on your wake. _________________
