Learn to ollie in the flats. Then learn to ollie in the flats while riding switch. Then learn ollie 180's in the flats both regular and switch. Take those to your HS w2w jump, working on your TS jumping on your way back across the wake. Might as well even do some TS one-wake 180's on the way back over.

ok, first off, I'm a beginner like you. But, I recently clicked with the toeside jumps. And once I figured it out, it almost seemed easier than hs jumps. All I did for toeside was stand straight up, legs straitened out, and cut into the wake keeping your edge. Thats basically it. It worked for me to start to get the feel for the ts jump. Just stiffen your whole body to resist the pop from the wake.

Like I said though, I'm a beginner still as well. But sometimes its easier to hear from someone who's closer to your ability. Oh and as for the first real trick I learned, it was the ts 180. It helps alot to video yourself I've learned as well. Here's a link to mine.

derrickw41, it isn't easy when you're starting out. But, it WILL get easier if you learn your fundamentals (which I put in my previous post) and keep working on them. It is just like any other sport you've ever been a part of-good fundamentals (and the continued work on good fundamentals) make things easier and easier as you do them more.

We all want to start out throwing inverts and stuff, but you've got to walk before you run.

cross12920, how fast do you normally ride? I don't know if it is the camera angle or what, but it looks like you are haulin' balls in that video.

I'm not sure exactly. But I think its probably 24-25. I guess it is a little fast. I guess I just feel more comfortable there but it does make the wake kinda weak. Do you think it would help alot if I slowed down to 21 or 22?

It will help steepen your wake and will also make the falls less painful. Might have to move the length of your rope a little to set it where the wake is the best if you change speeds.
