I bought a 1983 Ski Supreme from a dealership in the New Braunfels, Texas area and it was supposed to be free of stringer rot, have a new floor etc. After getting it home, I pulled the access door from the floor to find this:

So.. the next step was to pull the motor :
And then we removed the top cap:
And the floor:
So this is where I am with my project... I plan on this thread being a kind of running deal where I post updates and get feedback on my plans etc.
I am now trying to figure out if its worth pulling all of stuff from the bow to do the very front of the stringers, or should I just replace them from the point they are at back? I think if I can pull the front stuff out, I can make it so that I can fit a 280lb ballast sack up front and also do the whole length of the stringer which is probably a better idea (no points of flex etc). Any thoughts?

Figured I would add that I am also doing the interior, carpet etc. while I am at it. Here is a practice seat I made out of scraps that will go between two ballast captains chairs in the back seat area ( http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail/L6WEW )

Don't worry about the top corners, I just haven't figured out how to staple them and make them look good yet. What do you guys think? (Yes the pattern is "borrowed" from the new Byerly 210)

I feel for you. I bought a 91' Supra at the end of last Summer and was totally ignorant to the stringer issue. The previous owner had re-decked and re-carpeted so it looked great. Problem was, he installed the new decking over the rotted decking, and the stringers were toast. No way I could tackle this myself, so I took it up to Jim at Viper. At least I know when I get it back it will be right.

This is my first look at this feed. Just wondering what your progress is. Looks like exactly what I'd like to do on an old boat.

Got busy with school, but project is picking back up. My brother started a post elsewhere with some updated pictures. Sorry about the link to a diff forum but this is easier and the thread has some useful info! Updated pics and progress here : http://forums.bateau2.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23538
