|
|
The pads on my tower feet got all distorted so while I had it off I took the time to do a deep polish on my tower. There were alot of deep rain stains and crap that wouldn't come off with the normal means. Everything was polished on a standing buffer unit or a porter cable HD polisher with standard metal compound.

What kind of pad and compound did you use? Have you thought about clear coating the tower to keep it clean in the future? _________________ Lets see how many cliche inspirational sayings we can throw at the rider in one pull, they really do help... |

kartman, I'd say a dozen hours including removal, polish and install.
brotherbrown831, I did, we decided it would never hold on the metal and in marine conditions. Its got a very healthy amount of paste wax everywhere, hoping that will keep it protected. I'll have to check on the pad and compound, its nothing traditional like for a painted surface or gelcoat. The equipment was originally for brass and bronze refinishing. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News |

I have a very similar tower. Same before condition. All I used was some Elbo grease and Flitz. Clean up just like yours.
Its amazing how much better the boat looks with the little details polished up. _________________ Always looking for others who ride on Norris Lake in TN
